As We Forgive

check it out.
As We Forgive is an award winning documentary about Rwandan reconciliation after the 1994 genocide. The film is powerful and can be a great tool to get your campus excited about forgiveness both in Africa and at home. check out www.asweforgivemovie.com to learn more about the film and take advantage of all the great resources they have to expand the film to action.
Just recently, As We Forgive has launched a big fall campaign called the 4give campaign. This makes it easy for you to engage your community with the issue of reconciliation by focusing on the 4 gives: give true, give mercy, give hope, give back. To learn more click here.
There are a TON of ways to follow the film with action. My campus is going to hold a day of forgiveness on the mall. We are going to set up booths that tell the stories of forgiveness and reconciliation all over Africa. We are including Uganda(post civil war in Gulu), South Africa (racial reconciliation), Liberia (post civil war), Rwanda (post genocide) and the United States. Each booth will have interactive information about each issue of reconciliation as we ask the question "what is justice?" We are even giving students the opportunities to share their own stories of forgiveness and reconciliation. Its kind of like Post Secret but instead its Post Forgiveness. I will keep you posted as we get closer to the actual event.

Welcome.

This is a place where creative ideas reign...where campus action is realized...where truth is communicated, minds are challenged and hearts inspired. This is a resource, a challenge, an encouragement and a companion. All in the name of Africa.
Created as an arm of As We Forgive, a documentary about Rwanda reconciliation, this blog is intended to be a resource for colleges and universities who are engaging with the challenging issues that play out everyday in Africa. It attempts to bring African issues into dorms and communities in creative, tangible, and engaging ways. It is meant to connect students who have a heart for Africa with ideas and organizations that are making action happen on the ground in Africa.
If your college or university is doing great things for Africa we want to know about it! Contact us and share the love (and ideas) so that we can all benefit from your creativity and hard work
